History

Friends have worked since 1996 to collect accurate information with professional groups like the Audubon Society and various local universities on the extent and variety of natural resources in the Town of Clifton Park.   Our original grants were used to mape natural resources and identify special places.  More recently our study with Siena College has helped us to identify a potential greenbelt through the town’s Western GEIS (Generic Environmental Information Study) area.

Friends has been involved with many of the town’s charettes and an active participant in the town’s public meetings and events to provide a consistent voice for these unique qualities of our town.  We have published many Letters to the Editor in local papers and directly to the various town boards and committees on specific topics.

We continue to encourage awareness and participation in the town’s efforts and events.
